Privacy Policy

We collect: identification and contact data (full name, date of birth, address, email, phone); identity document and driving licence details required for the rental contract; payment metadata (we do not store full card numbers); booking, contract and damage report data; vehicle telemetry and usage data where applicable; and technical data when you use the website (IP address, device, browser, log data).

(a) Performance of the rental contract — bookings, contract generation, vehicle handover and return, invoicing (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). (b) Legal obligations — accounting, tax, road-traffic and insurance reporting (Art. 6(1)(c)). (c) Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, securing assets, debt recovery, network and information security (Art. 6(1)(f)). (d) Consent — non-essential cookies and marketing communications, where applicable (Art. 6(1)(a)).

We share personal data only with the processors and recipients required to operate the service: our IT and hosting provider (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), email delivery provider (Lovable Emails / Mailgun), payment provider (Stripe), our insurer (currently UNIQA / Kooperativa, as listed on the booking), accounting and legal advisors, courts, and public authorities where required by law.

Personal data is processed primarily within the EU/EEA. Where a processor transfers data outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism under the GDPR.

Rental contracts, invoices and accounting records are retained for the periods required by Slovak law (currently 10 years for accounting records). Account and booking data are retained for the duration of the customer relationship and for limitation periods thereafter. Marketing consent data is retained until consent is withdrawn.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Requests may be sent to support@scootax.sk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR, www.dataprotection.gov.sk).

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, role-based access, audit logging, and Row-Level Security on our database.
